One year in Scotland!!

I will be living in Edinburgh, Scotland for the next year while I study for a master's degree.  I've been here since September and I already adore the city.  (That doesn't mean it hasn't been a bit of an adjustment, but I'm working on getting acclimated and feeling like I know how to live here.)  I thought I'd share a few of my favorite things about my move abroad now, and maybe update them when the year is done next September?   Here we go:

1.  The architecture.

The city itself is simply stunning and I can't help enjoying the aesthetics of the city anytime I'm out and about.

2.   The history.

This is very related to the architecture obviously, but I love being surrounded by so many incredibly old buildings and landmarks!

3.  The culture.

You may be thinking, 'But you're from the U.S.; it can't be that different?'  While this definitely isn't the most different culture from my own, there are quite a few differences in the way of living here!  (Think walking everywhere, the tiny grocery shops, etc.)

4.  The chance to learn.

I have always wanted to live and study abroad, and now I am actually doing it!  This year, I will be working on my master's degree and I am absolutely thrilled at the opportunity to study here and learn from some incredibly knowledgeable lecturers!
